Bath’s Royal United Hospital’s annual Movie by Moonlight event is returning this year with the showing of Dirty Dancing to raise money for the Cancer Care Campaign.
The 12A film will be shown at Middle Common Royal Victoria Park in Bath at 8.30pm on August 31 and despite being a free event there will be a bucket collection on the night.
The RUH Cancer Care Campaign is the current focus of The Forever Friends Appeal, with the aim to help build a new and pioneering cancer centre which balances clinical expertise with the provision of a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
The new centre will make patients feel safe, supported and special so that they can get through their treatment with the least amount of stress, and their families can feel that they are well supported as well.
Events and community officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, Jo Hones, said: “Our Movie by Moonlight is a great fun event where you can enjoy a summers evening’s entertainment with your friends and family.
“We are encouraging people from all across the RUH catchment area to come along and help us get even closer to reaching our target to help build a new Cancer Centre at Bath’s RUH.”
Organisers recommend arriving early to secure a good spot to enjoy the show and recommend people bring warm clothing and a torch for later in the evening.
Picnics are permitted, but not barbecues, and there will be refreshments on site.
