The organisers of Seend Fete have axed the parade of floats through the village but will be holding a fancy dress parade on the Lye Field.
The parade usually sets off from the primary school and into the High Street to the Lye Field but due to a lack of floats the committee has decided not to have it this year.
There will be prizes for the best fancy dress for adults and children. The parade will be at 12.30pm on August 10, followed by the official opening at 1pm by the fete princess Daisy Hale, ten, and her attendants Joshua Conboy, nine, Ronja Galloway, eight, and Juliette Clark, eight.
The Wiltshire School of Gymnastics will put on a display and there will be circus performers, a fun dog show, model train rides, vintage cars and all the usual traditional stalls.
Running alongside is the Seend Flower Show, held in the Community Centre, Rusty Lane, from 1.30-4.45pm. Admission is £1.
