More than 50 school leavers marked the end of their time in Melksham Oak School’s sixth form with a sparkling reception at Erlestoke Golf Club.
The students arrived in ball gowns and evening wear for a drinks reception and formal meal on Friday, as a prelude to a party which lasted long into the night.
Head of sixth form Catharine Quirk said: “It was really successful. We had some of the staff who taught the sixth form students and all of their tutors there to meet them.
“The Year 13 prom committee gave a speech and handed out awards.
“The four students who organised the whole thing did really well.”
Waiting for the students on their arrival was a display showcasing many memories from the departing students’ school years.
Mrs Quirk said: “One of our fabulous DT technicians had made a table display in the shape of a tree, then each of the tutors and myself left personal messages to each individual student.
“There were photos of the students from the past.
“Everyone there looked amazing. It was a really nice way to end their time at the school.”
