Villagers in Steeple Ashton paraded their arts and crafts talents for a festival of rural arts.
The displays and demonstrations mostly took place in the church and village hall, from forging of ironwork to weaving, quilting, flower arranging, picture and glass painting, sugar craft and organ playing. Talented individuals, as well as local groups such as the natural history club and the Wiltshire Weavers and Dyers, took part. Harriet Cottle, nine, and brother William, six, above, came face-to-face with two alpacas from a herd of 33 owned by Peter Watt, pictured, and Carol Watt. The Watts have been running an alpaca wool business for seven years and displayed a range of knitwear at the event, as well as bringing along some of their animals. Seven-year-old triplets Isobel, Sophie and James Gore were introduced to the art of needle felting by Sue Vince at her display in the village hall.
