A £150 reward has been offered for information about a rare cat missing from Box.
Gaynor and Nick Thomas are appealing for help to find Maya, a two-year-old Maine Coon, who was last seen in the village on July 13.
Maine Coons are very distinctive; long in the body, with a very fluffy tail and large, lynx-like tufted ears.
Maya, who is often see patrolling Box Hill common, is a brown and black tabby with a white chest and paws. She has been neutered and microchipped.
Cat welfare organisations urge the public to check sheds, garages and outbuildings in case cats, not just Maya, might have strayed indoors looking for shade during the recent hot weather.
