A new bus service will be introduced between Warminster and Salisbury by the First bus company starting from July 29, with the service operating on a similar route to the existing bus service 24.
First will be providing the service as an extension of their existing route 265, which currently runs from Bath to Warminster, re-instating the through service from Bath to Salisbury that was withdrawn a few years ago.
The new service does mean that Wiltshire Council will no longer be able to continue funding the operation of service 24, with operation of the service ceasing from the same date.
The single and day return fares charges on service 265 will be similar to those currently charged on service 24, but as the council will have no involvement in the running of the new service, the arrangements for bus passes and multi-tickets will be different.
