Bradford on Avon’s Olympic gold medal winner Ed McKeever received an MBE from the Queen at Windsor Castle today.

The kayak king, 29, won the K1 200m event at Eton Dorney during last summer’s Olympic Games with McKeever fever gripping his hometown.

The former St Laurence pupil had a post box painted gold in his honour by the Royal Mail after his medal win.

Also today, Warminster fundraiser Daphne Pullen, chairman of CLIC Sargent, received an OBE and Westbury’s David Edington, founder of Stationary Engine magazine, received an MBE.

They both were given their accolades at Buckingham Palace.
