After being revived last year for the Queen’s Jubilee, the Bradford Leigh Fair returned once more on Saturday by popular demand.
The agricultural fair, held outside The Plough, began as far back as 1756, and although it faded out in the early 20th century, the fun fair continued until the 1970s.
Vintage tractors were dotted across the field next to The Plough and people tucked into a hog roast provided by Walter Rose and Son butchers in Trowbridge. People cooled down in the sponge stocks and enjoyed games such as horse shoe tossing, a coconut shy, a watermelon eating competition and the yard of ale challenge.
