The heatwave has come at just the right time for two Wiltshire nurseries, as they scooped top prizes at the prestigious Hampton Court Flower Show.
Charlie Clarke, of Bradford on Avon’s Westdale Nurseries, was awarded a Silver Flora at the show earlier this month, after impressing the judges with his bougainvillea display.
Also at the show were Terry and Mary Baker, from The Botanic Nursery, Atworth, who were exhibiting at Hampton Court for their 25th year with their silver gilt award-winning display inspired by Victorian gardening pioneer Gertrude Jekyll.
Mr Baker said: “We usually do very well at this show, as our nursery is primarily summer-focused, so we are at full strength at this time of year.”
