A sign advertising independent website company Holidays Near Longleat was vandalised less than 24 hours after it was put up in Corsley, Warminster last week.
The sign was erected just off the A362, near the White Hart on July 8, but the next morning the sign was found ripped and sawn apart.
Holidays Near Longleat, which has been running for only 18 months, is a website listing a range of holiday accommodation in the area surrounding the Longleat Estate.
The website is not affiliated with Longleat Safari and Adventure Park or its subsidiaries, but provides a way to find accommodation for those who wish to visit Longleat or any other Wiltshire attractions.
Debbie Rickhuss, who is the co-owner of Holidays Near Longleat and runs the Lavender Lodge, said: “We are only just starting to put the signs up and this was only the second one we had done, so it’s really disappointing.
“The sign went up on the Monday and we left the site at 12.45pm. We know it was still there at 11pm, but then the next morning we found it had been sawn down and the banner had been ripped apart.
“I was very saddened as all I’m trying to do is help local accommodation providers promote their business and we are supporting each other in this tough economic climate.
“It wasn’t up 24 hours and it will cost us money.”
Police are appealing for witnesses in the area of Corsley between June 8 at 11pm and June 9 at 7.30am to contact them on 101.
