Wiltshire Police are reminding parents and school children to take care following two reports of suspicious incidents.

At 8.15am on Monday two 14-year-old girls were walking to school in Warminster when a silver car pulled up alongside them.

The male driver called out to them but they didn't approach him and he drove off. The driver is described as white and aged in his late teens.

In a separate incident in Tidworth, at approximately 4.25pm on Monday, two young girls, aged 13 and 14, were walking along St Andrews Road when a silver car pulled up alongside them.

The driver initially asked for directions, but then asked for the girl's names and invited them into the car. The man drove off when one of their mother's approached.

A short time later the same man approached one of the girls on foot in Lowa Road, but she immediately ran home safely.

This man is described as dark skinned. He had black hair and was wearing dark trousers and a grey shirt.

Inspector Christian Lange said: “The girls were very sensible not to engage with these men and to report the incident to their parents.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the men and I would like to hear from anyone with information. We are keeping an open mind as to whether the two incidents are linked.

“We are working with local schools and it is important that parents/guardians remind children of stranger danger.”

Anyone with information or concerns should contact the Tidworth or Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Teams on 101.
