An overturned van on the A36 at Black Dog Hill in Chapmanslade caused long tailbacks in the southbound direction today.
Police and ambulance services were called to the scene at 5.48am, after a white Citroen panel van was reported on its side on the southbound carriageway of the A36.
A fire crew were also initially called to the scene, as it was believed the man driving the van was stuck inside, but paramedics confirmed this was not the case shortly after arriving at the scene.
The man escaped with only cuts to his left arm and bruising, with hospital treatment not required. The vehicle was recovered and the road was opened again at 8.08am.
