Bradford on Avon’s Tourist Information Centre (TIC) has expanded into a cafe.
Julie Cooper, manager of the TIC, said: “Our funding was cut so much we needed to become self sufficient.”
The Pavilion Cafe, open from 8am to 6pm, has contract catering for the next four years and serves drinks, light meals and homemade cakes, and also offers internet access.
Television screens were also installed with rolling information on places and events to visit, and the screens are turned to face the window every evening so visitors can see what accommodation is available that night.
Around 40 volunteers run the TIC and will continue to do so in addition to the cafe, which has seating to suit all weathers.
