Teacher and his daughter have joined forces to write a book on the Viking wars.
Martyn Whittock, 54, of Bradford on Avon, used his experience as a history teacher for 30 years to create The Viking Blitzkrieg.
Daughter Hannah deployed her expert knowledge from reading Anglo Saxon, Norse and Celtic at Cambridge University.
They divided up the book, each with their own chapter, and would regularly discuss what they had written, to make sure the book flowed.
Mr Whittock, a teacher at Kingdown School in Warminster, said: “As well as getting on well together, our skills complemented each other.
“Hannah has an academic background and my experience made sure the general reader could understand.”
Miss Whittock, 23, who works in the civil service, said: “It was a really nice partnership and good to have a project to work together on.”
She gained a first class degree then did a Masters in Anglo Saxon history.
Miss Whittock said: “The Viking age is a complex and interesting subject. I think there is a gap in the market. There are not many books on the history of the Vikings, from the beginning through to the end.”
Mr Whittock added: “People have a lot of misconceptions about the Vikings. There will be things that people read that they have never thought about before.”
The pair have completed a second book, Anglo Saxon Avon Valley Frontier.
Their first book is available in online bookstores.
