Shaun Kirkpatrick, the guitarist with Lucy La Stique, the popular rock band formed by musicians who met in Peewee’s Real Ale Bar in Trowbridge, has died unexpectedly, aged 56.
Mr Kirkpatrick was staying with his son Luke, who lives in Portsmouth, when he experienced chest pains and was admitted to hospital, where he died a short time later.
He was a member of British rock band Bronz in the early 1980s, along with West Wilts musicians Chris Goulstone and Paul Webb. Bronz had a huge following in the United States, where they toured alongside top rock band Hawkwind.
Fellow band members and friends have been deeply shocked and devastated by his death.
He leaves his wife, Louise, sons Cameron and Luke, and stepdaughter Tara.
A funeral service will be held at Haycombe Crematorium, Bath, on Wednesday at 11.30am.
The service will be followed by a celebration of his life at The Three Horseshoes, Bradford on Avon, the pub where he played at a Lucy La Stique reunion gig last November in aid of injured local girl Gem Stone.
