Roundstone Nursery have received a £200 donation from a man who was caught stealing milk outside the centre at 6.30am today.
The 46-year-old Trowbridge man claimed he didn’t realise the milk was the nursery’s and after a discussion with it's management and the police the incident was resolved by a local resolution.
This sees minor offences come to a conclusion with a meaningful apology as long as the victim is duly satisfied.
PC Jamie Darvill, community beat manager, said: “The use of the local resolution in this case has really benefitted the victim and has avoided what could have been long drawn court proceedings which can take up both the victim’s time and remove officers from front line duties.”
