PRESTBURY Sports Bar in Warminster was the venue for the town's very own version of The X Factor on Friday night.
The Silver Star - Search For A Star karaoke competition has been running for months and a different finalist has been picked each week.
Friday night saw the ten finalists sing two songs each to fight it out in order to become a star for a day'.
Silver Star clothing store, in The Cornmarket, had donated hundreds of pounds worth of prizes for the competition.
The top prize was a makeover including hair and make up, a photo shoot and portfolio of pictures, £120 in vouchers for Silver Star and a chauffeur-driven meal for two at The Dove in Corton.
Second and third place each received £50 and £30 in vouchers and the other contestants received a 25 per cent discount card.
Along with 3TR FM's Tessa Bickers and Laurence and Sarah Williams from Silver Star, I had been asked to help judge the entrants and pick the winner.
The singers got off to a nervous start, with a few wobbly voices coming through the microphone.
But the standard shot up when 21-year-old Jammi Trimby took to the stage to sing Bryan Adams' Heaven.
Jon Wolverson, 18, knew how to work a crowd with his version of Wet, Wet, Wet's Love Is All Around and Francesca Keirle put in a smouldering performance of Mustang Sally that got the crowd singing along in the chorus.
But 29-year-old Samantha Macintyre stole the show with her powerful vocals and crowd-pleasing performance.
First prize was awarded to Samantha Macintyre, second to Jammi Trimby and third to Francesca Keirle.
Prestbury Sports Bar's owner, Nick Pitcher, said: "It was a really great evening and it was nice to have such a high standard of competition."
Tessa Bickers, breakfast presenter at 3TR FM, said: "I was quite surprised by the standard to come from Warminster - there were some really good singers there."
