Soldiers who lost their lives while fighting for their country will be remembered across west and north Wiltshire this weekend.

Parades, services and poppy wreath laying ceremonies will be held on Sunday, with a two-minute silence due to be observed at 11am tomorrow, to mark Armistice Day.

In Trowbridge, a parade will start at 10.15am outside the town council's offices in Fore Street, moving onto St James' Church for a 10.30am service.

The Last Post will sound at 11am with the parade moving onto the park and the war memorial for midday. Services will also be held at Holy Trinity Church at 10.55am, St Nicholas' in North Bradley at 10.30am and St Thomas' in Southwick from 4pm.

A parade will leave the Royal British Legion headquarters in King Street, Melksham, from 2.30pm, for a service at St Michael's and All Angels in Cannon Square at 3pm. Members of the public are asked to be in their seats by 2.45pm.

The service will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the town's war memorial. Refreshments are being laid on at the Assembly Hall afterwards.

In Bradford on Avon, a service will be held at the Holy Trinity Church at 10.15pm, followed by a procession across the footbridge to the town's war memorial for 10.45am.

The Last Post will sound before a two-minute silence at 11am. The Lord's Prayer and National Anthem will follow, before the laying of poppy wreaths.

A procession will leave Warminster Road car park in Westbury at 10.30am, marching to the town's war memorial, where there will be a half-hour service and two-minute silence at 11am.

In Warminster the Lucknow Band of the Prince of Wales' Division will lead a parade from Station Road at 2.30pm.

The parade will march to Portway for a 3pm service, where wreaths will be laid. A collection will be made for the Royal British Legion's Earl Haigh's Fund and Local Special Relief Fund.

In Corsham, a parade will leave the British Legion's headquarters in Newlands Road at 10am, for a service at St Bartholemew's Church at 10.45am.The service will be followed by the laying of wreaths at the war memorial.

In Chippenham, a service will be held at St Andrew's Church from 10.45am, followed by a service by the war memorial, where the colonel of the 9 Royal Logistics Corp and mayor Maureen Lloyd will take the salute, before marching through the town. There is an evening service due to be held at St Paul's Church from 6.30pm.
