WARMINSTER West has new district and county councillors following by-elections triggered by the resignation of Cllr John Syme in September.
The results of the by-elections held on Thursday mean that Philippa Ridout (Con) will be district councillor and Cllr Paul Batchelor (Lib Dem) will be county councillor.
Cllr Batchelor is chairman of West Wiltshire District Council.
In the district council by-election, Philippa Ridout won 572 votes, Roger Coveney (Lib Dem) won 448 votes and Michael Turner (Ind) won 332 votes.
In the county council by-election, Cllr Batchelor won 548 votes, Chris March (Con) won 543 votes and Michael Turner (Ind) won 273 votes.
Cllr Syme resigned in September to look after his wife, who is unwell.
