A NUISANCE neighbour issued with a restraining order after subjecting pensioners on his street to a barrage of threats and foul language has been banned from driving for 16 months.

Ernest Ollerton, 60, pictured right who lives with his partner in Barnwell Road, Melksham, appeared before magistrates in Chippenham on Thursday, charged with failing to provide a specimen for analysis when stopped by police in Melksham on August 18.

As well as the 16-month ban, which will be reduced to 12 months if he completes a driver rehabilitation course, Ollerton was fined £140 and ordered to pay £75 costs.

In April, the 60-year-old was banned from parking on Barnwell Road for three years and prohibited from being abusive to pensioners Les Trimmer and Hazel Moore, who he had regularly targeted with threats and violent gestures.

The magistrates also warned him he could face a prison sentence if he breached the restraining order.
