A TAKEAWAY in Westbury is the latest food outlet to receive zero stars under the district council's scores on doors scheme.
The latest batch of inspection results have been published on the West Wiltshire District Council's website and include 27 new businesses, in addition to the 24 ratings released last month.
Petra Takeaway, in Bratton Road, Westbury, is the only new outlet inspected in September to have been given the lowest score of zero stars.
None of the latest additions have received the top score of five stars although several have been awarded four stars.
Under the system a score of one star is deemed fair, two is satisfactory, three is good, four is very good and five is excellent. A zero score means poor hygiene conditions have been found with major non-compliance with food legislation.
The idea of the scheme is to keep the public better informed of the hygiene standards in all businesses which provide food in the district.
The scheme which is likely to take another two years for all outlets to be rated, has been criticised by pub landlords as being unrealistic.
