CAMPAIGNERS in Trowbridge are making a film to record the views of people in the town on what is happening to the health service.
Jeff Osborn, town councillor and chairman of the Friends of Trowbridge Hospital, has joined with Trowbridge company Media Inventions to make the film, which will be sent to the newly-formed Wiltshire Primary Care Trust.
Cllr Osborn said: "Everybody on the PCT management board will get a copy. The aim is to get down to grass roots level and show them what people think."
The DVD features interviews with local figures such as MP Dr Andrew Murrison as well as people filmed in the street and those using hospital facilities in the town.
Among those featured is Wiltshire Times editor Andy Sambidge. He said: "We are here to represent the views of the people and people obviously have some very strong views about the future of their local hospitals."
Cllr Osborn plans to arrange showings of the film in the town to remind people the battle has not yet been lost.
The PCT is expected to make a decision on the Pathways for Change process in January, which could see west Wiltshire left without a hospital.
Cllr Osborn said: "If the decision goes the way we hope all well and good but if it doesn't there will be a lot of anger. Even then it is not final, it has to go to the health scrutiny committee at Wiltshire County Council and it can then be referred to the Secretary of State."
The film will be finished shortly, with showings announced in the Wiltshire Times and here on the website.
