MORE than 300 people gathered in the streets of Westbury on Saturday to show their support for the town's community hospital.
After a balloon launch the crowd marched up to the hospital, which has had many of its services closed.
Saturday's protest was organised to show the new Wiltshire Primary Care Trust the strength of feeling in Westbury towards the closures.
Westbury Hospital League of Friends chairman Jenny Clements said: It was a brilliant march and I was really pleased with the support.
"It should send a powerful message to the PCT that the people of Westbury do not want to lose their hospital."
West Wilts MP Dr Andrew Murrison also gave a speech on the importance of the community hospital.
