A SERVING police officer in Chippenham has been arrested and questioned on matters involving criminal misconduct.
Pc Tim Swinburn, pictured right, who was a family liaison officer in the Hayley Richards murder investigation in Trowbridge and was also been stationed in Chippenham, was suspended in January.
The suspension was in connection with matters including his involvement in the unlawful search of a then 16-year-old black teenager, Anthony Brown, in Chippenham in 2004.
A police spokesman said this week: "Wiltshire Police can confirm that on October 31, a 42-year-old serving police officer was arrested and taken to Gable Cross Police Station in Swindon where he was questioned in relation to matters of criminal misconduct."
He said the officer has been released on police bail but refused to go into any further details regarding the arrest.
