MANY may applaud the opinions expressed by B. Bronson and A. Edwards regarding the newly regraded hillside and the reprofiled widened A3102 road at Sandridge Hill with its dedicated surface storm water and subsoil stabilisation drainage constructed to a high standard.
They are speaking for motorists and those businesses who have suffered the extreme inconvenience of diversions due to work executed by county council-selected contractors who do not have to necessarily comply with the detailed niceties of legislation and management control expenses resulting from supervised planned direct labour works.
However, the residents and commuters on the Holt, Staverton, Bradford on Avon urban road network would no doubt welcome the advent of a fairy godmother and new major landowners in their neighbourhood, to ensure the inconvenience of a relief (politically correct) road' being provided from taxpayers' monies.
Such a provision might speed the journey times to far-flung hospitals - if we have ambulances.
