RE the article Care pledge as staff cuts announced' (Wiltshire Times Oct 20), in the second paragraph you refer to the loss of 151 jobs.
This is misleading and I would like to clarify the situation. The transfer from the current way we provide our home care service is expected to take up to a year to implement. With that period of time, we expect to reduce the number of job losses to a minimum - many will be lost through retirement, redeployment, and resignation.
The changes to the home care service will not affect people who already receive our service - it is simply a long overdue organisational change that will improve our service both in terms of efficiency and in value for money. As part of the new-style service, there will be a nominated quality control officer who will ensure service quality.
