I WOULD have some sympathy for Richard Hussey and his fight against a speeding conviction if it were based on evidence that he wasn't breaking the law, rather than on the status of the operator that showed that he was.
Nowhere in the entire article does he deny that he was doing 43 mph in a 30mph limit area; this is not only nearly 50 per cent over the limit but a speed at which he would be nearly certain to kill any pedestrian or cyclist he struck.
Instead of getting so excited about their rights people like Mr Hussey might like to consider their responsibilities towards other people and doing something to help reduce the 10 deaths that occur every day from such bad driving.
As for the revenue earned by cameras, I'm broadly in favour of taxing criminals.
