I STRONGLY believe that our county name town is a sure certain candidate for a bus station.
Silver Street is always congested with loading and unloading lorries, work vans, illegally parked cars and you name it, which makes it rather impossible at times for our buses to get through. You get to Fore Street by Parade House and it's like manoeuvring through Tesco's car park.
How often do you see visitors asking where can I get this or that bus from? The answer? Turn right after the bank or sorry I haven't got a clue.
I believe we have enough available spaces to build a state-of-the-art bus station which will really put our town on the transport map. Chippenham has a bus station, it is being revamped at this very moment. It goes to show how highly they think of their town.
Come on powers-that-be, let's be proud of our town, give us a bus station.
