Iain Ferrie, the 6ft 4in big-hitter from West Wilts, set a new course record with a prodigious round in winning the Gloucester and Somerset PGA pro-am at Farrington.
Striking the ball with the power and fluency shown by his brother Kenneth, who won £1 million in the European Tour last year, he posted seven-under-par 65.
The former West Region PGA champion picked up seven shots in a front nine of 29. Only three three-putts on the back nine prevented an even more spectacular return.
He finished five shots ahead of David Haines (Brean) and ex-European Tour players Andrew Sherborne (Kendleshire) and Mark Sanders (Knowle).
