Hambrook's latest professional Trevor Jones won the final Titleist-Footjoy under-30s League event at Bath on his first appearance.
He shot three-under-par 68 on his debut and also claimed third place in the betterball on countback from Newport pair Brian Lee and Chris Pritchard. But their total of 63 was four off the pace.
James Jakes, assistant at The Bristol, and his 14-handicap partner Liam Poole carded 12-under-par 59. They were ten-under after ten holes but both players made fives on the 215-yard par three where a long narrow green is guarded by bunkers.
But they shrugged off this momentary lapse and picked up four more shots on the closing seven holes. Jakes shot 75.
Jones, who has joined the PGA by the fast-track method, won £286 on the day and received an added bonus when the season's order of merit was determined.
Points at the fifth and final event have been doubled in recent years to attract a better entry so Jones picked up 200 for this victory. This took him into fifth place in the standings so he wins one of the five Titleist contracts on offer.
Ian Brown from Newent, the leader all year, just managed to hold onto the top spot after shooting two-over-par 73 to share 12th.
But he was pressed all the way by Mark Luckett (Wheathill) who shared second place on 70 with Welsh pair Huw James (St Mellons) and Brian Lee (Newport).
Luckett (290.41) was runner-up, a mere 5.19 points behind Brown (295.60), while James (287.50) was third and Matt Griffiths (Whitchurch) (246.35) fourth.
Torrential rain, thunder and lightening caused the event to be abandoned on the original date ten days earlier.
Luckett staked a claim to win the league by taking first place at Lyme Regis with a two-under 69, two lower than Brown with Giuseppe Licata (The Bristol) and Matt Shapcott (Saltford) carding 72
