CRUCEFIX Jack 'John' Of 23 Marshmead, Hilperton, died peacefully on Wednesday 24th May at 12.15pm, aged 97. He will be sadly missed by his wife Bernice, brother Malcolm, his children Andrew, Martyn and David and their respective families. Jack was a mechanic in the RAF during the Second World War and was posted to the Western Desert. After the war, he worked in aviation engineering and never lost his interest in aircraft. He joined a self-build association and built their house in Hilperton. On retirement, he was an active member of the local bowls club and a keen gardener. The funeral will be at West Wiltshire Crematorium, Semington, Trowbridge.
