HAYDOCK Beryl Mary Much loved mum, grandma, friend and girl guide. Died 28th January 2017 at Abbotsfield Hall Nursing Home, Tavistock. Thanksgiving Service to be held on Thursday 9th February, 2pm, at St Eustachius' Church, Tavistock. Donations in Beryl's memory for Trowbridge Girl Guides by retiring collection or sent c/o Morris Bros Funeral Directors, Lakeside, Tavistock, PL19 0AZ. I am so sorry for your loss. By sheer coincidence my 95 year old mother's funeral took place the hour before Beryl's at Glynn Valley and my family were also staying at the Bedford Hotel, Tavistock. In conversation with members of Beryl's family it transpired that both ladies were very involved with the Girl Guiding movement and they may even have known each other! I wondered if we would like to write, jointly, a small piece for the Guider magazine which would describe this amazing coincidence and outline the lives of these two remarkable ladies and act as a suitable tribute to them both.
