It Runs In The Family, Thursday, November 9 until Saturday, November 11, Merlin Theatre, Frome.
The ever-popular Frome Drama Club will have audiences rolling in the aisles with their performance of It Runs In The Family, Ray Clooney's hilarious hospital farce.
Set in a doctors' common room at St Andrew's Hospital the plot revolves around Dr Mortimore, who is about to deliver the Ponsonby Lecture to 200 of his fellow neurologists and will probably earn a knighthood for his pains. But out of the blue Nurse Jane Tate, an old flame whom he hasn't seen for 18 years, turns up with the son he knew nothing about, and hilarious pandemonium ensues as he tries frantically to conceal his long-forgotten indiscretions with Jane in the sluice room, both from the hospital authorities and from his wife.
This glorious romp will feature most of the cast of FDC's sublime Arsenic and Old Lace from three years ago.
Directed by Philip de Glanville, Frome Drama Club are delighted to present It Runs In The Family as another of their Jubilee Year productions.
Recommended for ages seven and over, tickets cost £7.50 (£5.50). Merlin Theatre (01373) 465949.
