The egg theatre in Bath celebrates its first birthday next week with a half-term extravaganza of shows and workshops.
On Monday, October 23, the birthday itself, there will be live music and a piece of birthday cake for all those who attend the performance of Muttnik: The First Dog in Space, which is inspired by the story of Laika, the dog sent into space in 1957.
There is also a stage adaptation of Arabel and the Escaped Black Mamba; dancers who have worked with AMP take a journey into the secret lives of circus clowns in Ruby and the Big Top; The Chatterbox is an action-packed visual riot of a show featuring a host of extraordinary puppets in which a boy enters a giant book; Strawberry the Clown, alias Fraser Hooper, pictured, presents Funny Business; after their success earlier this year with The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo's Child, Tall Stories return with Them With Tails, a piece of funny and quirky storytelling.
The week ends with a showing of Babe in association with Bath Film Festival and introduced by the author of The Sheep-Pig, Dick King-Smith.
Tickets from Theatre Royal box office on (01225) 448844 or the egg reception (01225) 823409.
