Rambert Dance Company Tuesday, October 17 until Saturday, October 21, Theatre Royal Bath.

The UK's oldest dance company performs a sensational, cutting edge programme in Bath during its landmark anniversary year.

Despite being the oldest dance company in the UK, Rambert's 80th anniversary performance in Bath proves it is still young at heart, with an exceptional programme of four diverse works.

Pond Way by legendary choreographer Merce Cunningham is a prestigious new acquisition; Constant Speed is Mark Baldwin's witty and ingenious interpretation of Einstein's physics; Divine Influence by Martin Joyce is performed to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, and Transit created by Melanie Teall is performed to extracts from Eric Serra's soundtrack to the film Leon. Rambert is accompanied on tour by its Associate Orchestra, London Musici, conducted by music director, Paul Hoskins.

From its birth in 1926, by visionary Polish dance teacher Marie Rambert, Rambert Dance Company has survived as Britain's oldest dance company.

Not only has the company's creative vision and commitment to excellence led the way in the development of British dance, but today, under the inspired artistic leadership of Mark Baldwin, Rambert is proud to be the UK's flagship for modern dance - still innovating, still touring the UK and still entertaining audiences.

Rambert is, truly, one of Britain's national cultural treasures.
