IMAGINE walking into a party where everybody is wearing wireless headphones and is singing and dancing to an inaudible beat.

This was the vision of the founders and creators of the Silent Disco. Their dream has become reality and is coming back to Bath.

Festivals across the globe have been crying out for the presence of Silent Disco ever since their first UK appearance took Glastonbury Festival 2005 by storm.

The biggest and most unusual sensation at any festival or night club, the Silent Disco has electrified international crowds from Romania to Ireland, Spain to Latvia, Indonesia to Australia with their mixes of dance, hard house, punk, disco, salsa, early swing from the twenties, alternative, world, electro, hardstyle, gabber and Dixieland.

In the summer of 2002 friends Nico Okkerse and Michael Minten organised a secret party on the campsite of the Dutch theatre festival Parade.

Apart from the people that joined them, nobody knew. They did not disturb anybody around them as the party people were wearing wireless headphones. Silent Disco was born.

Next was the creation of 433fm, a radio station that broadcasted only for the participants in Silent Disco. This radio had no jingles, no commercials and no news, only good, varied and definitely danceable music.

Silent Disco soon became a hit in The Netherlands and Belgium, followed by France. After Glastonbury 2005 it went stellar, with appearances at T in the Park, Moor Fest, the Carling Weekends at Reading and Leeds, Connect, Electric Picnic, The Edinburgh Fringe and Brighton Comedy Festival.

The sound is state-of-the-art digital quality, and to make the show even more special, the Silent Disco DJs broadcast music to the crowd on two channels.

The audience choose the music channel they prefer on their headphones, switching instantly from music style to music style.

If you think a silent disco-dancing crowd with headphones is special, wait till you have witnessed one half of the crowd moshing to Nirvana and the other crooning along to Frank Sinatra.
