PLANNING PROPOSAL CONCERNING WHITEHALL GARDEN CENTRE, CORSHAM ROAD, LACOCK

The public and any interested party are invited to attend an exhibition and consultation event relating to a proposal for the redevelopment of Whitehall Garden Centre at Corsham Road, Lacock.

Plans will be available on display boards within the Orangery restaurant at Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock, between Monday 29th June and Monday 6th July 2015 during normal opening hours.

On Monday 6th July 2015 between 4.00pm and 8.00pm, there will be a formal public consultation event, where members of the family and consultants will be available for discussion and to respond to any queries.

The site is an existing family owned Independent garden centre, which started as an adjunct to the family farm in 1968. It has been grown and adapted incrementally to respond to the changing trends and markets and now employs over 156 people.

Planning permission has previously been granted for a proposal to reorganise and expand the business. However, the practicalities of implementing this permission and changing markets since this original scheme was drawn up have led to the family reconsidering the approved scheme.

People who are interested are invited to call in at any time between the hours above to view the plans and discuss the proposal with the applicants and/or their agents. There will also be an opportunity to leave written comments should you wish to do so.

In due course a full planning application will be submitted to Wiltshire Council when you will have a further chance to comment on the proposals.
