CAMPBELL Morrison, one of Scotland's most prolific actors, has died aged 55, after being unwell for some time.
Mr Morrison, whose real name was William, was known to many of his friends as Billy.
He lived in Warminster with his wife, assistant director Nicki Ballantyne and their 11-year-old daughter Lily.
Born in Glasgow in 1952, Mr Morrison was the artistic director at Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum, directing his life-long friend, comedian Billy Connolly, before becoming an actor himself.
His list of screen and stage credential is extensive and a testament to his energy and talent.
He was DCI Mason in EastEnders and Drew Lockhead in short-lived BBC soap El Dorado. He also appeared in a wide range of TV shows and in theatre.
He and Nicki met in Spain on the set of El Dorado and lived in London before moving to Warminster in 1997 to refurbish a property.
Nicki said: "He was a oneoff, incredibly funny and very passionate about his work and his family.
"We all miss him very much and there won't be a dry eye."
He leaves two sons from a previous marriage, Tom Morrison, 25, and Luke Morrison, 23.
