Rugby: Devizes' second-half fightback was not enough as they lost 24-7 to North Dorset in the Dorset & Wilts Vase final at Allington Fields in Chippenham.
The Saddlebacks paid the price for a slow start against their higher-league opponents as they found themselves 17-0 down at half-time after conceding three tries.
Devizes rallied after the break but all they had to show for their efforts was a try from Gareth Davies, which was converted by Matt Halloran.
Saddlebacks coach Tim Unwin, who steered his team to the Dorset & Wilts One North title this term, was proud of his players' efforts.
He said: "You could tell they were from a higher level as they were a little bit more organised than us early on.
"It took us 20 minutes to get into the game but from then on it was a good effort from the lads.
"It would have been nice to put the icing on the cake of a good season with a win but it wasn't to be."
