MELKSHAM professional triathlete Mark Threlfall has thrown his weight behind Trowbridge’s Hot Chilli Triathlon, which takes place on Monday and is backed by the Wiltshire Times.
Threlfall, who has elite-level podium finishes at Ironman 70.3 distances and numerous triathlon wins globally, including Vitruvian 70.3 and Castle Series events, will line up for the race, which starts with a swim at Clarendon pool.
Threlfall said: “As a local club, Hot Chilli put on a great event and I’m pleased to be able to support it along with some of the athletes I coach from Athlos Triathlon Racing Team.
“I’m using the race as prep from Ironman 70.3 Mallorca five days later, where I’m targeting a podium finish.’’
Hot Chilli chairman Ashley Hutchinson added: “Having an elite-level triathlete compete with us is further testament of the work we put in paying off.’’
