TWO musical brothers from Warminster could be set for stardom after being invited to audition in front of Simon Cowell for a new TV talent show.
Ben Bright, 12 and his ten-year-old brother Charlie, of Marsh Street, Warminster will be performing in front of a 1,000-strong audience and celebrity judges on Saturday for ITV1's Britain's Got Talent.
The show, which will be presented by comedy duo Ant and Dec, will be broadcast later in the year.
Ben, who goes to Kingdown School said: "I'm really excited about meeting Ant and Dec. I was amazed when I found out. I didn't think we'd get through.
"I think we will do okay this time though because we have practised lots."
Ben and Charlie will be returning to the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff for a second audition to perform on stage in front of celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.
Their first audition was on Saturday at the same venue.
Charlie, who goes to Minster Primary School said: "I am kind of nervous and excited at the same time. My friends are pretty amazed."
The brothers, who play guitar, drums and keyboard between them, are hoping their performance of Wonderwall by Oasis will be enough to sway the judges.
Mum Jaine Gray, 36, a child-minder and part-time Reiki practitioner was delighted to hear her boys had been successful.
She said: "We got a call on Sunday while the boys were in the bath, so I took the phone up to them and put it on speakerphone.
"It was great to hear they had got through to the next stage.
"They did themselves proud. They were very professional. There was a lot of talent there last week so we didn't hold out any hope so to get a call back was fantastic."
Mrs Gray proved her enthusiasm to support her boys after putting off her birthday celebrations so that she could be up at 5am last Saturday to take the boys to the first audition.
As well as playing music from Oasis and Athlete, Ben has written his own song Why, Why, which the boys may also have to perform.
Mrs Gray said: "It's very catchy. It is about a lost love and about how his heart has been broken."
Singing on stage will be nothing new to the boys though as they were invited on stage to perform in front of 5,000 people at Butlins in November 2005.
Sheelagh Brown, headteacher at Kingdown said: "We are really excited about it. Ben told me he was practising lots. We are very proud of him and his brother, and Charlie will be joining us next year too so we are hoping to get them to perform for us here too. I've asked Ben to tell me all about it on Monday."
Britain's Got Talent is the latest TV talent show from Simon Cowell to be filmed for broadcast later this year.
Unlike previous shows, this latest programme for ITV1 does not have any age limit for prospective stars.
