THE search to find a new headteacher at John of Gaunt is now over after the Trowbridge school announced that they have found a successor for the outgoing Mike Gunston.
Paul Skipp has been appointed as the school’s new headteacher from September 2018.
His previous role was as Principal of Yate Academy and Consultancy work across a number of schools in the South West.
““I am delighted to have been appointed to the post of headteacher,” he said.
“The John of Gaunt School has a long and successful history and I am thoroughly excited at the prospect of working with the whole community as we strive for even greater success. It will be a privilege to lead such a wonderful school and I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.”
After 11 years at the school, Mr Gunston will become headteacher of the Dyson Perrins Academy in Worcestershire.
“I am delighted that our governors have appointed a colleague of Paul’s calibre,” said Mr Gunston.
“The school is in a strong position and Paul’s appointment will add further positive motivation. Deciding to move on was a very difficult decision for me but I can now do so with greater comfort.”
