AROUND 100 tonnes of tyres were found to be on fire in Southwick in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Three crews, including two from Frome and one from Trowbridge, were called at approximately 1.32am to Hoopers Pool and found that a large quantity of tyres, along with a small outbuilding were on fire.
Two hose reel jets and two main jets were used to try and extinguish the blaze with firefighters being supported by a water carrier from Pewsey.
As the morning progressed, Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne and Bradford on Avon crews took over with them all leaving the scene at 10am.
Dorset & Wilts Fire Rescue Service are not treating the fire as suspicious.
Currently at a 3 pump, 1 water carrier fire.
