The man who died after being pulled out of a river in Melksham has been named by police as Nigel Clive Boodle of Chiltern Close, Melksham.
The 70-year-old was being pulled from the river Avon in Melksham on Tuesday just after 3.15pm.
Officers and ambulance staff attended and pulled Mr Boodle from the water.
He was treated at the riverside before being taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is now being prepared for HM Coroner for Swindon and Wiltshire for inquest proceedings to begin.
