Wiltshire Police are appealing for help from the public after a home in Melksham was burgled and valuable items stolen.

On April 13, an unknown suspect who was seen loitering on West End in Melksham and later that evening a house on the residential street was burgled.

The theft, which has left homeowners on the street on edge, is thought to have taken place between 6.55pm and 9pm, and the criminal stole money, jewellery and car keys.

According to officers, a man had been seen loitering in the area around the time of that the crime took place, and was also spotted acting suspiciously around a vehicle parked at the end of the street.

The man has been described as white, of medium build with short grey hair, and he was wearing a white hoody and carrying an orange plastic bag.

But having been unable to identify the suspect, Wiltshire Police are now appealing for the public's help.

"We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a burglary in West End, Melksham," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.

"We are keen to speak to a male who was seen acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
